After teaching accounts for over a quarter century, I decided to quit formal teaching. This blog is mainly copied and pasted from my book Concise Accountancy.
Here is the preface to the book.
The Concise Text Book of Accountancy is a product that crystallized from
many years of my hard work. I started planning this book in 1984 but waited
another 25 years to gather enough experience before venturing to actual work. I
taught Accountancy long enough to visualize almost every difficulty a student
would face while learning the subject. The illustrations in this book are
extracted from class room demonstrations. The main focus of this book is self
learning. Every important point is explained with the help of simple
illustrations followed by comprehensive illustrations at a later stage. When
there is a difficulty in working out a comprehensive question, a student can check
the simple illustrations to revise the accounting treatment.
Useful hints and comments are given in text boxes to direct the attention
of students to the right spots in the topic discussed. This book is written in
plain simple language which the students will find easy to follow. My aim is to
present the subject of Accountancy, not to demonstrate my skill in twisting the
English language. Text books in the past were written in hard language and
everybody assumed that it was the way it should be done. Good business language
is important at a later stage, but right now understanding the basic concepts
of Accountancy is more important.

Special thanks to Dr.Munish
Makkad for his kind review and creative suggestions.
Thanks to my wife Elsy for
her words of encouragement and the unlimited supply of tea. My children Sonia
and Kevin lost lot of their fun time because of a busy Papa at home typing out
the pages.
